Ways to Keep your Solopreneurial Career Interesting

BUSINESS

Being a solopreneur can get very lonely and sometimes even demotivating. Waking up everyday just to work by yourself, it gets to the best of us. But let’s see how we can keep your journey exciting:

  1. Find your community

Chances are, there is a community online that your business can be a part of. There could be a community - on WhatsApp or on Facebook - of people in your industry. There are also other communities that are for business owners in general. One such community is StartupNation. Here you can learn, contribute and engage with like-minded people.

  2. Employ short-term staff

Find an intern to help reignite your passion. Employ someone with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and a strong work ethic. They will help you stay up-to-date with what's new in your market. You can find graduates that would be happy to intern with you on local Facebook groups like Opportunity Hub Lesotho. Hiring a graduate will not only make a big difference in the life of someone but, it will also allow you the luxury of normal working hours, for a change.

  3. Educate yourself

Take an affordable short course on platforms like Coursera. Their online courses are offered by globally recognized universities. Studying hours are flexible and the material is usually very easy to understand. You’ll find that the UX of the platform is also quite user friendly. Read books that talk about business. My current favourite is 90 Rules for Entrepreneurs: your guide to being an entrepreneur, a millionaire and, of course, happy! A book by Shark Tank Judge, Marnus Broodryk. Join free webinars that are related to your line of work on websites like Eventbrite.
